So basically, break the law and hope not to get sued; but if you do, drag it out for a decade to get past the statues of limitation (or whatever it's called) and win? I think Apple has some wicked smart people working for them.

It took nearly 10 years in US District court to some up with "unanimously concluded that iTunes 7.0 was a genuine improvement over its previous version, and hence Apple cannot be held liable for violating any antitrust laws." And you wonder why so many people think the US is broken. Doesn't that verdict miss the point entirely, wasn't the legal issue forcing users to use iTunes with their iPods, and not allowing outside e-tailers to sell music for Apple devices. Which in itself is a huge violation, it would be like buying a GM and then only being able to put in gas from Texaco, or any other individual gas company. That would never happen, and that's two separate companies/entities. Here you have Apple selling a device that only Apple can sell you music for, it's amazing people actually bought these pieces of crap knowing the limitations forced upon them. I hope the appeal comes through and Apple eats it big for this.

In America, the government protects the monopolies, not the people. The politicians like being on multiple payrolls at once.
