Getting this when installing PowerDVD. It worked before I formatted XP, now it doesn't anymore. I kinda would like DVD back.

Windows XP does not have an ASPI layer one has to be added I use force ASPI with the older 4.60 ASPI which seems to work the best. some programs like Nero will install their own ASPI layer.

so is the "error" not having ASPI?

the nero aspi layer is local to it alone, but if you installed something like easy cd creator 5 you would get an aspi layer and your program would work.
