Upon bootup I recieve this message "/windows/system32/asr_dctr.dll not a valid windows image". Cannot find any other help in search engines. Virus software has not found any malware. Anybody familiar with this problem? No other real noticable issues, but it is certainly something I don't happening and I can only speculate as to what it is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I agree with Sharam. This type of error message is most often related to malware. Normally, however, you receive the dll error after the removal of the malware as a result of window looking for the process to start but cannot locate due to the malware being removed. Simply navigate to the file right click on it and delete. Locate any start-up items for the file as well using hijack this and remove them.
