Asus FM3 series lcd off

Does anyone know why;

My old mum got a Asus FM3 laptop with Vista. It has been a nightmare, locking, restoring etc. so as my dad can help (he has Xp on his) I wiped and installed XP Pro sp2 and downloaded all drivers needed from asus.

Problem is everytime I restart the logo etc comes up bright then as all is done the screen goes off (you can just see it).
To make it come back you need to press Blue FN and F7 LCD on then is all fine till restart.

Is there a way to make it just load as normal as she will not see this as an improvement.

Sorry but did not feel the need to make a new post.

The other problem is that audio does not work. I cannot find a driver, is this the end do I go back to vista!

Surely a vista laptop can do xp pro!

Had to put Vista back.

Really would like to get an xp driver disk for this machine.

the problem is really in the wrong driver. tell us the full config of your machine(especially the video chip)
