Yup, I have an old Asus P2B-L rev 1.03 board, and was dissapointed that I could not run the PIII 750 chip I had around. The board only runs down to 1.8v. BUT in doing a little research, I swapped out the old volt reg chip (HIP6004ACB) with a new volt reg chip (HIP6004DCB) which runs down to 1.3v! Granted, your still stuck at 100mhz frontside bus, but now that PIII is purring along great in my revived P2B! I wouldn't reccomend this to an amateur, but anyone with a bit of soldering experience, and some patience might have a bit of fun with this mod. Enjoy, ya hardware freaks! :p

I have an old P2B-S (SCSI) with a PIII-550 and 256MB RAM.
Still running great. It'll be up for sale next.
Just in case, where exactly is that regulator located?
Is it the square 4x5-pin or the rectangular 2x10-pin version?

P2B-L Volt Reg chip location

The Volt reg chip is a dual inline surface mounted IC , rectangular with 2 rows of 10 pins, and is mounted next to the ATX power plug. The board should be removed from the system to do this mod as it's in a poor spot to get at. Thank, and have fun!
