ATI issues?

Hello, Currently I am having a bit of trouble with freezeups whenever i try to play a game, I am Running on an ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 256mb card I have all of the latest drivers yet it seems to freeze my games every once in a while and I have to shut down my computer to get it to unfreeze. Any suggestions on what I can do to make this stop occuring is appreciated.

How did you install the drivers ? Do you have a cd ?
You said you installed the drivers,but
Did you install the latest Catalyst Control Panel ?
