ATI Radeon 9250 install problem-"try install standard VGA first"

Installed new ATI Radeon 9250 256mb card AGP
Changed Bios to "256mb" window, PCI
Monitor works, card not recognized in Devices
Tried install with disk -> "Error installing....try installing standard VGA driver first"
Running Windows XP - SP 1
installed .netframe
2.4GHz computer, Pentium 4, 512mb Ram
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Get an older driver and manually install it. I'm not gonna explain how because I'm to tired. Best of luck,tommorow I will.
