ATI unveils mid-range Radeon X700

    ATI has launched a mid-range Radeon X700, using the RV410 chip. The new card will directly challenge the GeForce 6600 series from Nvidia.

    Key features include:
    -Eight pixel processing pipelines.
    -Six vertex engine.
    -Memory controller can handle a variety of SDRAM types from DDR through to GDDR 3, all across a 128-bit bus.
