Hey,
I was thinking and I would like your opinion what would be better for gaming.
This X850pro= 12pipe,520/1080,256bit

Or maybe this X1600XT 12pipe,600/1400,128bit.

I would really like yaws help on this. I only ask because I have limited money and I want most performance for my money and since I'm an ATI fan boy I thought that these were the best choices that I could find for $180-$260

On a side note or as another card would the X800XL 512mb 16pipe be even a better card. Please help. ^_^

get that 512 MB one...damn!! i should've bought that...i'm jealous now hehe but um..the powercolor..no no...powercolor is the celeron of video cards and plus its only 128 bit bandwidth...but hot damn...512 MB PCI-E going at 256 bits...smokin...thats a steal

I would but this is the most money I can come up with and Like I said I love ATI more than Nvidia. And my Mobo is made for ATI cards as well so i'll just stick with the Sapphire card.

the x1600 isnt to bad ither concidering it has shadder 3 they have a 7800 on sale for 269, im an ati "fan" to but whoever has a better deal ill go for

the 7800gt
20 pips
smart shader 3
450
1050 :knock:

well between the X1600XT and the X800XL,

X1600XT +shader 3.0(the real one)
+High clock speeds
-Hard to get on newegg.com(also ordering other parts .. I need 1 place)
-128bit
-Less memory

X800XL
+/- Good clock speeds
+More mem .. by 256 = to 512
+More fps in games due to mem and 16 pipes
-No Avaio or new design(1k family)

7800GT
+More pipes
+Higher clock speeds
+/- Not sure about the shader, I read in a article that their shader 3.0 wasn't real the real 3.0
-/+ My mobo said that it was desinged for ATI Radeons.
-Runnin' on parents money so i'm not gonna try to sqeeze the extra money out.

I think i'll stick with the X800XL card.
>_> I would love to get the X1900XTX ... ^_^

you will not see the difference between 256mb and 512 in a game,
theres not such thing as degined for ati redions unless you have a crossfire board
ive never heard of the REAL smart shader 3, i tihnk there all the same

this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102646 is a good card for the price, and it can be overcloekd and unlocked to xtpe speeds

Are you shore you can push an extra 20 dollors out of your parents because i HIGHLY suggest the 7800gt over the x8xx series
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814127190

I would get the GTO2 and overclock it to XTPE speeds but my mobo cant overclock at all!!!!!!!!!!

I could try to get the extra 20 bucks but I'll still need a cheaper card in case i cant get the 7800gt

And what card could give me most fps/performance/gaming for under $260
... any of my cards so I dont.... have to overclock (F#%&@ mobo >_<)

I'll try to get the 7800gt but I wont be able to get any of my parts untill 2 weeks.

I'm also gettin a AMD 3800+ dual core with a zalman cooler.

I was getting the 3800+ x2($322) the zalman cooler($55) And the x800xl($260) that came to $637

But i'll keep the cpu drop the cooler because my mobo cant overclock cpu bout now that i thought about it and looked i think i can overclock video and since i droped the cooler i'll get the 7800GT.
3800+ x2/the zalman cooler/X800XL=$637
3800+ x2/7800GT=$592 Yeah i'll go with this instead.

Yeah I cant help but to like both now I just wish ATI & Nvidia will get togather and made a card because Nvidia pipes and ATI Shader 3.0 and H.264

Overclocking a video card has nothing to do with the motherboard. You just raise the clock rates and unlock a few pipelines using the suitable software (like Rivatuner).

Regarding the shader model 3: It's only supported by Geforce 6 and 7 series cards (6600, 6800, 7800...) and ATI's X1*00 series cards (X1800, X1600...).

nice system, that will game good with a 3800+ and 7800gt, if your boards locked then there no sence to get a better cooler, the stock will work fine
