Audio Help!!

I've recently finished building my comp. I've installed XP and whenever I try to play the sample media file I don't get any sound. I'm using the mobo sound device and I can't seem to figure out whats wrong. Do I need to download sound drivers? Did I need to plug something in? Please help me figure this out.

Your mobo should`ve come with a cd. This contains all the chipset drivers, sound drivers etc.

If you don`t have the mobo cd. You can get the drivers from the mobo manufacturers website.
