Audio not working Asus Windows 10

So one day I opened my laptop and the sound is not working. I currently has the amd high definition one but its not rlly doing anything HELP

Google on "pc windows 10 restore sound" and try some of the dozen 'solutions'....Windows 10 updates seem to derail sound, but there wouldn't be so many 'solutions' if it were one specific issue.

If windows 10 updates derailed the sound, he might need to flash the bios to the latest version. He didn't say how old the pc is.
