    Hi,

I was listening to some music last night and all of a sudden, the sound flicked off. No pop or bang to signify popped speakers, just cut off.

Since then I have tried updating all drivers for everything under the audio + of devices properties, and rolling back but nothing works. I am just about to try a system restore however I am wondering if there is a single problem that can be fixed.

    My computer:

    XP Home
    AMD Athlon 3000+
    NVidia Nforce 6600 GT
    512 mb RAM
    30 gb HDD
    K8 Triton GA-K8N-SLI
    Realtek AC'9 Audio
with Panasonic SA-PM03 powered stereo speakers.

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris.

plug the speakers into something else before you go reformatting... just encase.
