i have a netgear wg311v3 card in my pc. my user account dosent have a password, so i want the pc to auto on at 1:30 and run updates/disk management so by 3:00 it will be ready for me when i come home.

I halfway acheived this:

the netgear card causes a "novell" type login screen to occur, so every time i turn the pc on i have to hit enter to get windows cranking.

i went into the run option and typed in "control userpasswords2" and unchecked a box that said "users must enter username and password to use this computer"

well now the pc turns on and logs into windows automatically, but it logs in under the administrator account... instead of the "blaino" account.

i tried deleting the admin account so then the blaino account would be #1 on the list, but it wouldnt let me. which is probaly good because thats what you use when in safe mode.

anyone have any ideas on how to make it auto login to the blaino account?

thanks

Hi onesmart*****

As you have found, you cannot delete the "Administrator" account (thankfully)

Go back to "control userpasswords2"
Tick the box "users must enter a user name..."
Select your user (just Highlight it)
Select Apply
Remove the Tick in the box "users must enter a user name..."
Enter any password you have (usually none)
Ok
Ok
Restart

I'm pretty sure that's the exact steps, but anyway that works.

I find the above way is the easiest option
I think you were nearly there on your first go.

Glad it's all resolved :)
