AVG free and Jan 2007

I use AVG Free on a couple PC's, and in the last few days i got the popup that Grisoft would discontinue support for AVG Free edition beginning in Jan 2007. So now i come to you great folks here at TS to ask your opinion, what free antivirus software package will take the place as the best free antivirus software out there? Suggestions?

Just to put you straight. Grisoft are discontinuing support for the old version of AVG free and have already released a new version. Version 7.5, which you can get HERE.

You should download and install the latest version.

Howard ty, u have assuaged my fears, the popup did not make it clear that A free version would still be available for public consumption....I should have gone and checked myself. Would have saved us both 2 minutes of our lives. LOL
