Avi Files won't plat video, only audio...WTF???

When I try to play a avi file on WMP I only get sound. At first the vizualizations played with thw sound and when turned off the vizualzation option then I only got sound.

What am I doing wrong. It plays MPEG's ok.

Sounds like that might be a codec problem. Download and install the K-lite codec pack from HERE and see if that helps.

Now that you say that I recall that there is a message at the bottom of the WMP that states there was an error reading the codec. I will try that tommorow when I get home. Thanks!

and if it doesn't help download VLC. It is what I use when Windows Media player lacks the codec. It is free and plays almost anything! :grinthumb
