I've been through the wringer with a random reboot issue (not tied to any specific action at all) on my machine. Nearly every minidump comes is a 0x7f which points to some kind of hardware issue. Here are the steps I've taken:
new power supply and new power strip
new heat sink to cool cpu
new hard drive
reinstalled Windows
run mem test to death...no errors
Still having problems. I've ruled out heat, cpu, power, and memory at this point. I'm thinking it is probably the motherboard. Is there any way to test a motherboard (software?) to see if I can find out for sure? It is a Gigabyte board (7nf-rz) under warranty still. Before I RMA, I'd like to be sure b/c I've heard Gigabyte customer support is not so good and takes forever.
