Hi I just want to get a confrimation that the BSOD that i am getting is due to a faulty device driver. I've checked the ram with Mem test for 24 hours with no errors, did a dual instance of Prime 95 for 24 hours with no problems. Did a chkdsk no bad sectors nor problems.

This happens when I play GuildWars in window mode and Mozilla Firefox is opened (at a flash heavy site).

Here's a sample of my Debug.txt

I'm guessing it's the Nvidia video card drivers, (Beta 81.17) but using the (81.15) causes them as well, I havent tried to use the 70's series yet. But i'm not sure wether it's the video card driver OR is it firefox that causes the problem.

I've attached the full debug.txt and minidump.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi,

One minidump is insufficient to find out the culprit. Attach 5 to 6 minidumps here. The prelimary finding is faulty memory. Run memtest to stress test the ram.

Yes I did a memtest for 24 hours with no errors and I swaped the slots as well. But I will try to get more minimaps. Thanks again for your advice

I've got another 2 more minidumps which all point to the nv4_disp.dll.

Note: This only happens when I play guildwars in a window mode with firefox 1.7 (with many flash heavy sites up).

But if I play the game in fullscreen there's no crash (with firefox in the background). Also if I minise Guildwars, there's no crash as well. Only when these 2 are on screen then I'll get the flicker and bluescreen.

Note:But using Guildwars in Window mode with IE (with even more flash heavy sites up) there's no crash nor blue screen.

I checked my ram with memtest and again there were no errors, brought it to the shop to do a complete test no errors as well.

I just need a confrimation that this version of the Nvidia drivers (81.17 & 81.15) have these kind of errors with an AMD X-2 3800.

And to be double sure, I did a 2 X instances of prime 95 for 24hours with no problems.

Attached below are the minidumps.

Hi,

The last two minidumps show that the culprit is nVidia Display card driver. Report the prooblem to nVidia Technical Support.

Thanks man, but what about the first one? I Know it's not your fault as I only gave 1 minidump at that time, but does faulty memory causes that *.dll to crash? I just want to learn how you guys read the minidump so fast.
