Balancing protection and computer speed?

Hello,

This is my first post here and i firstly wanted to thank the people who gave the advice on how to defeat the W32.Myzor.FK virus as i was close to reformatting my pc today untill i found this site. It is now fixed (touch wood)

I also followed the advice about setting my pc up so it is not so prone to attack but i have two questions if anyone can help.

1. How do i set up certain programs so they can be used in my guest account as some of them are missing?

2. I have installed; Adaware, Counterspy, AVG, Spyware Doctor & ewido. My connection now seems to be very slow. Is this too much protection and what should i uninstall or do to reach a compromise?

you have too much. No need to have ewido and counterspy and others always running.
Only use when necessary.

use mike lin's startup editor to stop autoloading of software.
