Battery runs out very fast and black screen

my toshiba satellite a215 - s7428 laptop has been acting up for a longtime, but i have had enough.
1. The fully charged battery runs out in like 10 minutes

• when it is not plugged in and the computer seems too warm.

2. more importantly, The black screen

• happens randomly when I am doing somthing. The fan stays on but the proccessor light goes off. When this happens the computer stays on but I can't do anything accept hold down the power button until toshiba shuts down, then turn it back on, and for a while laptop works as normal.

please help.

This sounds like part of your issue is with too high of temperatures. On what kind of surface do you run your laptop? Are the vents clear of dust? Have you used a cooling pad with fans?
