Battlefield 2 "please ensure disc is inserted" problem HELP!

Hi i have owned an official version of battlefield 2 for a few months now, but over the past month i have been unable to play it as it says: "please ensure disc is inserted into drive and try again", my disc drive isnt faulty as i have tested it with many other games and dvd's and have also tried another dvd drive, im sure it cant be the game as it worked before, does any1 have any ideas? my system specs are: amd athlon 3200 xp+ 64 processor, 1 gig corsair ram, 40 gigabyte maxtor hard drive, asus dvd r/w drive, geforce 6800 graphics card, thanks guys

You should contact EA tech support. Since it appears that your disc has gone bad you should be able to get a new one with out any problem as long as you still have your CD key handy.
