Battlefield2

I have just gotten battlefield2 and am trying to get it to play smooth.

System Specs
AMD 2800 Athlon XP
512 MB
7600 geforce gs

Inititally I had a geforce 5200 and the game played but really crappy, thus I got the new video card. I still have problems with lag such as I have my guy running and when I take my finger off of the w button the guy keeps going and the game hangs when he tries to turn his head. I am wondering if this sounds like a memory or cpu issue.

Both.. although memory is playing a bigger impact.

Even 1 gig with BF2 is really tight. Get up to at least a gig as memory is dirt cheap then meter from there.

I've never been able to get BF2 to play to my satisfaction or without lag until getting 1.5-2 gigs of ram, but I also like having some of the game details cranked up. It's a real memory hog.

Thanks I will try this first I currently like playing with high settings on everything but texture which I have on low now although I would rather have it on medium.

i'd agree on ram. 512 doesn't leave you with much room..
