  1. The specifications for one of Google's new Nexus devices has allegedly been revealed through graphics benchmark GFXBench. It appears as though someone ran the benchmark on a pre-release unit, which allowed the software to capture almost all of the phone's hardware information.

The device in question is the Nexus 'Sailfish', the smaller of the two Nexus devices that are expected to be released in the coming months. According to GFXBench data, this handset packs a 5.0-inch 1080p display and uses Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon 820 SoC. We're also looking at 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.

As for cameras, the Sailfish reportedly includes a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The software on the Sailfish is listed as "Android NMR1", which indicates this handset is running the Nougat Manufacturer Release 1 as expected.

Previous rumors have suggested the Sailfish will be produced by HTC, and will include features like USB-C and a rear fingerprint sensor, similar to current Nexus devices. Considering HTC's design prowess, hopefully the Sailfish is one of the better looking Nexus devices.

The Sailfish is expected to launch alongside a second Nexus handset, codenamed Marlin. This phone is rumored to pack a larger 5.5-inch 1440p display, although most other hardware should be similar to the smaller Sailfish. Considering the release dates of past Nexus phones, we could be looking at a September launch for these new handsets.

Hoping for the September release; my HTC One m7 won't last much longer.
