Best firewall for XP

I had Broni help me clean this up https://www.techspot.com/community/topics/clean-up-speed-up-infected-xp.198971/ but everytime I boot it up, it tells me the default firewall is turned off yet when I check it in the control panel, it still shows its on. Does it need a 3rd party firewall or no? TIA

Turn off notifications and the irritation will stop.

The default XP firewall was very week, and I opted for Comodo (which has been bought out but I cant cite a reference). Also ignore the Comodo Internet Security offer - - just get the standalone firewall.

How do I turn the notifications off in it?

@jobeard, the owner will be using it offline (I'm told) so no firewall will be needed, thanks.
