I want to see how much a really good gaming system that can play games like Crysis and has a DX10 card would cost because im bored :haha:

Can someone suggest / link some parts?

CPU:

RAM:
PSU:

Videocard:
Hard Drive:
DVD drive:
Case:

If it's not too expensive I might save up to build it :D

Before going any further, what's your price range?? If your looking to build it from scratch, you're probably going to spend about $1200 ono the low side and upwards of $1500 or more depending on the chip. The one price that remains constant at this time is the DX10 card, which is also at two prices and two versions. The best is the 8800 GTX and is around $610-640 and the 8800 GSX coming in around $450 or more, depending on which site you look at. Either way, to have a decent DX10 compatible system built from the ground up, the above price range is pretty accurate, give or take a few hundered bucks.

For sghiznaneck:

I dont have a price range on this because Im just seeing how much all the best parts would cost to build a DX10 build, If it's not too expensive I might build it

For Jtickner:
HDD 2 – Seagate barracuda – 1.5TB - $1150

Why would i need 1.5 Terabytes? :haha:

Well thanks Cpt / Jtickner for the items, I'll add up the items and see their performance with CPU test and stuff

If you spent aroung $1500-1600, you could be in gamers heaven.
Just make sure you don't skrimp on a cheap power supply, get a dual core processor and a nice SLI ready motherboard, an SATA hard drive version 300g, at least two sticks of RAM (identical) and you might as well buy yourself a GForce 8800 GTX DX10 card and you'll be good to go for a couple of years.

I'd recommend pQI Turbo RAM or similar brands like OCZ with the lowest CAS latency possible (which is 3 I think) and get at least 4GB of it. Throw in the eVGA nForce 680i mobo from Newegg.com, 3 GeForce 8800GTX gfx cards (u have 3 slots in the mobo anyways, so why not use them! ;)), 2 or more WD Raptor 150GB 10,000 RPM drives and the QX6700 Quad core processor and you'll never need to upgrade for the next decade! :D

LMAO Rage he wouldnt be able to afford to upgrade for the next decade....

"I Time Paradox hereby sell my soul for the price of......" lol

lol i'll sell my soul then i'll beat them up and get it back ;)

3 GeForce 8800GTX gfx cards

Yeah i'll need like a 10,000w PSU :haha:

That would be awesome though, Getting like 500FPS on crysis :D

all the ladies thath are hardcore fans of the little yellow frame counter on fraps? jk

There's no exact release date from Epic ATM according to GameSpot but it's expected to release in the first quarter of 2007.

Well I looked at most of the parts you guys linked and Since most of them were like $9000 totals I compiled alot of items together to make a pretty powerful machine! Tell me what you think!! :D

I Might add some watercooling to this machine :D

What FPS do you think i'll get on Oblivion with this? :) ( probably like 999999999999999999999 right? ;) )

Nah. But you would get around a consistent 60 FPS at 1600x1200 with all eye candy turned up to the max, which is still very awesome! :D

Well 60FPS = Smooth and no Tearing screen :D

What ever you rig in your profile cost plus $650 for a Geforce 8800GTX.

What?
