BF1942 v1.6 Patch Problem

  1. (=DoM=) Newcomer, in training

    I'm posting this on behalf of my friend who recently bought a new Sapphire Radeon 9600XT and is now having problems installing the 1.6 patch for Battlefield 1942.

    Basically he bought BF, installed it, i lent him a PC Gamer cover disk which has the Retail to 1.6 Full Patch for BF on, and when he tries installing it, it unpacks the first data file and then it crashes and stops responding, look on attached jpeg...

    Ive told him to close all non-essential background programs including his Anti-Virus program, but still no joy, Anybody got any ideas?

    He has downloaded the file to his hard drive and it still does the same thing, so its not his Disk drive which is causing the problem.

    Umm only thing I can think of is maybe it had a date you had to use by?

    no idea.

    Never had any problems when I've patched BF, so sorry.

    Maybe download the patch from the net and install from that ?
