BF2142 on DVD-ROM, but no DVD-ROM drive! Any suggestions?

My friend bought BF2142 on DVD-ROM but doesn't have a DVD-ROM drive !

Could he use the drive from his DVD player in his PC?
If not, is there any way (preferably legal) I could copy it onto several CD's (since I have a DVD-ROM drive) and he could use them to install it?

Is it copyrighted, or does it have a letter c inside a circle? If so, you cannot copy other than to make one for personal use.
