Bios password lost.

I received an old pc with win.98 installed.All is good, Im trying to install a new hdd,80gb.I need to change the bios settings,and i have no clue what the password is , nor does the previous owner. Is there anyway to get around this? please help.

If you remove the cmos battery for a few minutes, and then replace it. It will reset the bios, and should also reset the password.

password issues

well howard ,did just as u recommended,shazaam. restarted pc,and no password required. thanks for the info. I love this site,very useful for pc begginer's like myself.
