Is there anyone that know how to update bios on abit kt7a? I have downloaded awdflash utility,bios ver 7N. I want help, not links
If that's an award bios, go create a dos boot disk or download one and put the files in a floppy disk. Put the new bios file and the flash utility in the disk as well. Restart your PC with the floppy disk. In the prompt type [name of flash utility] [name of bios file] and click enter.
There are a couple versions of your mobo (Raid, non-raid, V1.3) so you should check out this site: http://www.abit.com.tw/abitweb/webjsp/english/download.jsp When you download the bios, there should be a readme file that will explain the install..Erwin explained it well.
Check out this site. It is unofficial, but has tons of tips and recommendations for users of the KG7 series (like myself) and the KT7 series as well. http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kt7/kt7faq.htm It gives a detailed description on how to flash the bios and the downloads for the utilities you will need to use. The site also does a great job of explaining the differences between new and old bios and all the other little details in the bios. Anyway, I would definitely check this site out if I were you.
