black screen

    when my sister loads up he computer it partly loads up (what that means is when it get to windows xp screen it loads up) but after it has finished her computer then goes black with only the curser .

    what could be going wrong

    this is known as hanging when the pc gets stuck on a particular screen like this

    i can't remember exactly how to sort it so this will act as a bump :)

    Other than remarks about letting sisters near computers.....
    This is happening at about the point windows is loading drivers.
    Restart in safe mode and remove the device I think you have just installed.
