    This is the first time I got a bluescreen when I was *not* trying to run Skype. I may have a real issue with my computer after all. I'v attached the minidump.

    Any ideas?

    Your minidump crashes at nv4_mini.sys. This is part of your video card drivers.

    If this is just a one off crash, don`t worry too much. If it keeps happening, try uninstalling and reinstalling your video card drivers and see if that helps.

    Regards Howard :)

    Grr. Updating and installing new video drivers was something I just did in an (unsuccessful) effort to get Skype working. I may have to do a rollback.

    Thanks for the input :)

    Um, can you clarify this. I'm looking al over my minidump and I do NOT see nv4_mini.sys on it anywhere. How are you reading the minidump? This is the command string I used...

    dumpchk c:\windows\minidump\mini090806-01.dmp

    Thanks.

    I use windbg which is part of the microsoft debugging tools.

    You can find a short tutorial HERE.

    Below is part of the output from your minidump.

    BugCheck 1000000A, {bab4, 2, 1, 806e4a8e}

    *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nv4_mini.sys
    *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nv4_mini.sys
    Probably caused by : nv4_mini.sys ( nv4_mini+55453 )

    Also just to add to what Howard stated, remember to run DriverCleaner in safe mode to clean out the old video drivers!!
