    Hello all,
I am at my wits end, i have a dell inspiron 9300 laptop. Yesterday when i tried to reboot the system, i got the blue screen and an error msg 0000024 ntfs.sys. I am not at all able to boot into windows. I have tried to even reinstall windows xp and after the options screen ( which ask new, repair or quit), i click new, i get the same msg. I ordered a new drive but i want the information from this one. I put in a windows me cd rom and got to dos prompt, but i can't see the c: drive. I have gone as far as buying a hard drive enclosure and connected it to an old laptop with xp but it would not read it, i think i need to change the jumper settings. any suggestions on how to get the information off the drive onto another.

    Thanks
    Paul

Thats a classic dead hard drive. You will have to pay through the nose to get any data off it via a data recovery specialist.

If it's important, you should back it up. Too many people end up learning that the hard and expensive way.
