Blue screen error

Hey, I have Windows Home Center Edition and it suddenly showed up with a Blue Screen when I tried to restart the computer. It was working absolutely fine before, but now it says that I've installed some new hardware etc. However, I haven't installed anything for the last couple of days. It also says something about checking Bios. Also, even if I try going on Safe Mode, the same screen comes up. HELP! Thanks

This is the error the comes up:
STOP: 0x000000ED (0x86592368, 0xC0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

It also says UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME, and something about disable BIOS Memory.
However, I can't do any of that because the same things comes on when I try Safe Mode.

Edit: Do I need to give you some extra info? Or is this common? Cause I can't even get on in safe mode to be able to fix the problem.

Sorry for this multiple post, but does anyone know if my computer can be fixed? I asked a friend and he said it's permenantly broken.

What OS are you running and do you have the CD?

Bythe way, how does your friend even know it is permanently broke?
