Blue Screen of death with Thunderbird & Lightning

By Cro-Kap

  1. I continually have blue screens of death when I use Lightning 2.009 with the lightning 0.5 extension. Firefox is at level 2.011. I have to use both programs because it is mandated at work. When in lightning for a short bit it crashes. If I keep out of lightning I am OK. Here is a mini-dump from my last encounter.
    please help.

I am having troubles saving the dump files because it won't let me save or upload even though it is under 100k.

    Hi,

If you only get a crash when running Lightning, then the minidumps might not be necessary.

The usual advice for a single program crash is to fully uninstall it,then reinstall/update it.

The latest version of Lightning is 0.7 HERE Read the release notes carefully to avoid losing data.HERE

You could also try reinstalling Thunderbird.

Other than that, maybe your work IT people will suggest something. They have to do something.:haha:

If you could take a minute to fill in some of your profile information that would be helpful to all members of the forum :)
Knowing someone's location in the world can be extremely helpful, even if you just put a country.

Also remember to post any problems or questions that you have in the appropriate forums

With regards to your problem, put your minidumps (about 4 or 5 of your latest) in a zip folder and attach that to the thread.
