I took a HD out of an old Dell GX280 that I had laying around. And of course I'm having problems with it. Keeps trying to restore system and keeps repeating. I'm running diagnostics on it now. It passed the 1st half with no errors. After hooking up the HD in the Dell optiplex 755 is their something else I'm supposed to do before booting up?

Do I have to install a new version of Windows on the Dell Optiplex 755 that I put the HD from the Dell GX280? They both have Windows 7 on the Hard Drives. Not sure if it the same exact Windows Version though....

Suggest you download fresh copy of Win7 from Microsoft, make bootable and install...of course Dell may have a better idea..... https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7
