Boot Loops

  1. Plavdawg Newcomer, in training

    Trying to build new PC but...

    1. Can't Boot from CD Drive (after changing boot order).
    2. Put a working HD with WIN2003 Server installed and the boot cycle continually loops without going into OS.

    Any ideas?

    Spec:
    P4 Prescott 3.0ghz
    2 GIG Corsair DDR2 RAM
    PCI-Express 128mg Graphics Card
    P4 Extreme Motherboard
    160G Maxtor Diamond 10 HD - new/200G Western Digital HD with 2003 Server

    Is that installation compatible with your motherboard (i.e. installed on an identical PC with the same motherboard)?
    Is that HD the master on IDE1 and does it have a MasterBootRecord MBR?

    You can't just stick any HD in some PC and hope it works!
