Hi all

Got a PC, doesn't boot at all. Well, only with the ME boot recovery disk but that only leads to the command prompt as the options dont' work. Without the disk it goes straight to no bootdisk found.

I can get into dos and launch "win" from the windows dir but then I get a missing/corrupted ifshlp.sys msg. I already have tried checking msdos.sys file, replacing the ifshlp file but it doesn't affect it.

Whats with the boot? If it were just the ifshlp file it should boot normally until windows starts to load.

Any suggestions?

TIA

Raz

Every time I have seen missing / corrupted IFShlp.sys for Windows Me, it has been because of a bad hard disk.

I recommend running a drive utility to diagnose your drive. You will find a list of drive diagnostics in the Storage Forum.

I recommend not touching your drive until you run a test on it FIRST. Do a quick test. If it passes, do a full test. If the quick test fails, backup your data ASAP!
