How old is the hard drive? Have you run the drive fitness test from the manufacturer?
    What antispyware you using?
These problems are usually failing hard drive, major infestations, inadequate memory module, or dying chip.
You might want to consider downloading the latest version of HiJack This, then posting the results to this forum for one of the experts to examine.
