After dropping my laptop, the screen shattered on the inside, but when I plug a monitor in, it asks what operating system I would like to boot. I select Windows Vista but only to come to a blank, black screen. Any leads?

Yeah, a new screen, isnt that obvious?

Isn't it obvious that a blank screen comes on AFTER me being able to select a operating system? I hooked the laptop to a monitor.

    It's obvious you're not a very skillful reader is-all.

From being dropped, the screen probably isnt the only damage.

You are probably going to have to take it to a professional.

Try to remove battery and power on laptop plugged in to AC.

Your hard drive is probably damaged as well considering the force of the fall was enough to shatter your screen. To be honest, full replacement is probably your best best. You have too many broken parts and laptops depreciate too quickly.

Ruphert, if you are still interested in getting this fixed and are in the UK, I know a man who can.
