Have a laptop connected via wireless router. Am on cable, use winxp, w/sp2. Always was able to connect, no problem. Also have Firefox installed. Can connect to web w/Firefox, but not ie7. Have uninstalled and reinstalled ie7 twice, to no avail. Router is fine, I know I'm connected, but why won't ie7 connect to web. i use both browsers. Can someone help me figure this out? Thank you.

Using FF says your TCP+Wireless are just fine. Failure on IE suggests a firewall
condition as SOME of them can not only control the traffic but also which
specific applications are allowed to make ANY connection whatsoever.

So; which firewall are you using?

Does sound like a firewall problem.

But you downloaded the latest updates from microsoft for IE 7?

Regards Jase :)

that's great. Does it condition which applications have Internet access?

You may have not (intentionally) restricted access, but it could have be set
under the covers and thus IE will not run properly. A virus would love to
disable IE to stop update.microsoft.com/ !
