I have been getting this Power Driver State Failure for years. I have tried an uncountable number of times to isolate the problem without any success.

Please look at the attached mini dumps and shed some light.

I am not a computer wiz so please be gentle with the action plan.

THANKS

Both errors are 0x0000009F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

A driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state. Typically occurs during events that involve power state transitions, such as shutting down, or moving into or out of standby or hibernate mode.

The thing is even the minidumps report that they cannot ascertain what is causing these shut-downs. looking at the above description do you notice thhis BSOD occurring in any of them, i.e., shutting down, etc.?

it never happens while I am working. The computer actually never gets to standby or hybernate instead I get the failure so I imagine that it is in the transition to one of these states where the problem occurs. What does that mean? What could i do about it?

Hibernate error

If I understand the discussion so far...
Your machine (a laptop?) is generating an error when trying to transition into hibernate.
I have had a laptop that never hibernated properly. (Call it a "feature"?)

For further help, it would be useful to know...
more details about the system.
Is it a laptop? Brand?
Is the OS fully patched and updated?
Have you tried the manufacturer of the computer for BIOS or Proprietary software updates?

These are where I would start.
