BSOD in xp setup

  1. I keep having trouble installing xp on my grandma's old computer, it is a compaq presario 5900Z, with a AMD Athlon 800mhz slot A, 128mb pc100 ram, 20gb wdc, 16mb nvidia video card, compaq 48x cdrom/?x dvdrom (original!), 2x IEEE 1394 ports, 2 front usb/2 back.

But, i have been trying to reformat and install xp on it, but every time it gets to the "installing network" portion, it gets a BSOD, it says "IRQL is not less or equal", then it does a physical memory dump, and then it must be restarted.

This computer ran just fine with windows 98se, I don't know why it is suddenly coughing up, any ideas?
