bt voyager 220v adsl voice router and xbox 360

Hi i hope im in the right area and someone can help.Ok here goes i have a bt voyager 220v adsl voice router and want to connect my xbox 360 to it so i can stream videos etc through my laptop(fujitsu siemens amilo 7230).The problem is i havent got another ethernet socket on the router,nor is there one on the laptop.Now i can get a connection direct from the router to the xbox(it confirms connection etc)but i cant access xbox live i get a message saying somthing like you need a windows live account,i have a hotmail live account.Any ideas.Also it may help if there was an online manual for the router ive tried looking but to no avail.Many thanks
