Hi,
As I have found a place near me which sells old pc parts dead cheap, I decided to build an old pc-I can buy various things including an old Pentium 2 mmx mobo and cpu for £10. There are also some other parts-can anyone tell me which is better-PGA370, Slot 1 or Socket 7? and are there any other places to get old and cheap parts from? What kind of PSU should I get? Thanks

In my opinion, it isn't worth mucking around with stuff that old.

No warranty, slow, and Drivers can be extremely difficult to find.
You'll only be able to run '98 or a small Linux Distro on it, and Games will be a joke.

I'm not trying to be negative, but I'm speaking from experience.

You can knock up a cheap Core2 system for probably well under 200 pounds (I'm not sure of the exchange rate, but a Pound is about $2.20 Aus)

E2180 $80
1Gb DDR667 $30
P3vd2-VM $60
80Gb SATA HDD $70
DVD Burner $40
Case & PSU from $45
