Cable troubles

  1. I have been having issues with my cable tv going in and out(not static but intermittent blackouts) , so I called the cable company and they said they had to replace all the old cable in the house with RG6. The problem is that they are charging $70 an hour for something I feel has a more simple solution. Any help?

humbug; get them to certify to refund your expense if the change does not
    eliminate the condition.

    You're being snookered!

Static, fade-in-out would be appropriate symptoms for bad cables :)

Unless its digital, then it can pixelate or vanish all at once.

Yeah that is exactly what is happening, any other suggestions?

Cables themselves really can't go bad if they are stationary. Lop off the ends of them and put new ends on.
