Cam on my Gateway Laptop

I have a Gateway Laptop with Windows 7 and a built in HD camera. If I am video calling on Yahoo or wherever the cam works fine, but it does not show up on my Control Panel items I.e. "devices and printers". However under Device Manager is does show up and says it is working properly. However since it isn't listted in my devices and doesn't show up when I searh "all programs". I can only use it when I am video chatting in Yahoo IM. Otherwise I can't find it and therefore cannot bring it up

What is the model # of your Gateway. I would expect that when you double click and open Computer the device should be there as well.

Also, have you looked at Gateway's site under Support for your computer model # to see if any special apps are offered for your cam?

You have to install a patch to make your cam show in "my computer", I met this problem before and found the why in google,you can try it.
