Can anyone else record music on new wmp?

Hi this could be an isolated problom but im trying to find out.

Can anyone eles record music from cds on to theyre computer useing WMP in wma format?(loseless, Varible or 192kbps)

Cause I cant any more after,
I think it was getting a couple of updates from windows update (I always could with wmp8)

P.S please respond and I am using WMP version 9.00.00.2926.
