Give ASUS a call and ask what if anything they have available.

There are some Notebooks that allow GPU upgrades. Knowing which ones allow upgrades and the correct upgrades to use, is something you would need to ask the manufacturer.

I know high end gaming laptops can easily hot swap GPUs. I dont think yours supports that though. This thread may help you out: http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx...board_id=3&model=M51Va&page=1&SLanguage=en-us.

If you want to get a short term performance boost, upgrade your GPU driver. Download the latest version from here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win8-win7-64bit-320.18-whql-driver.html. Chose the "Custom Install" option and then check the box that says "Clean Install". You should get somewhat of a performance boost.

JC713, Did you mean to say hot swap? Hot swap refers to switching devices while the PC is still powered up.

Honestly, I highly doubt you can switch out your card unless the laptop contains an MXM port, it was not till the G73 Generation that they started locking the GPU with the system, so if yours contains that port, you might be able to upgrade it to one that will work with whatever gen your MXM port is.
