    Hi,

I have a lynksis wi-fi network in my house and I have yet to encrypt it.
My question is whether or not WEP encryption is possible without the disk that came with the router?

    I found this,might help -

    Enabling WEP on Linksys -

Logon to your routers settings. normally by opening the following web page http://192.168.1.1
Now click on the "wireless" tab
Click on the "Wireless Security" sub tab
    In "security mode" select "WEP"
Leave the "default transmit key" as it is
Change "WEP Encyrption" to "128 bit"
In the "Passphrase" enter anything you want. Make it about 8 characters long
Press "Generate" and you will see Key 1, 2, 3 and 4 now have 26 Digits in each. Congratulations you have now secured your router and gernated your WEP key.

    Interesting link HERE
