    What Linux desktop?

Linux isn't like Windows where you only have one style of GUI to choose from. With Linux, you have a plethora of customizable desktop and XWindow managers to choose from.

    Some popular ones:
    GNOME:

    Enlightenment:

    WindowMaker:

    Fluxbox:

    AEWM:

    AfterStep (modeled after NextStep):

    FVWM:

    CDE:

    OLWM (modeled after OpenLook):

    AMIWM (modeled after Amiga's Workbench):

    etc.etc.etc.

You can run one or more window managers/desktops.. even multiple at once and switch between them. There are literally hundreds to choose from and they are almost totally configurable PER user.

    Hello,
What makes an operating system "cool" is the programs that are in it.
What also is "cool" about an os is the power that it has.
If you want a different look on your old windows, then you can download a theme, or a theme changer, look it up in google.
