Can I underclock my RAM?

  1. Yesterday I bought this RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231689

It runs at 2133 MHz. However I cant find a Motherboard that runs at this speed and has 2x PCIe 3.0 slots. I also want my Motherboard to have at least NVIDIA duo-SLI.

Can I run that RAM at for example 1600 Mhz, or is that not possible?

Do you guys have any recommendations for Motherboards and maybe even CPUs for that?

I can find you quite a few that will run the ram at 2133 with 2 PCI-E 3.0 slots, but yes you can underclock the ram to 1600 and it will be fine. What company CPU do you have currently (Im guessing Intel) since your running SLI. Depending on your CPU, heres a couple of options.

    MSI Z87 LGA 1150

    Asus LGA 1155 Z77 Maximus

Yes you can underclock RAM. If you want some suggestions you should tell us what kind of CPU you have
